Matt Zuska is a Polish artist and graphic designer based in Chicago. He takes his inspiration from nature and organic forms. His work is highly detailed, merging both worlds of painting and film photography to portray the duality between beauty and destruction of our ever-changing world. Zuska focuses on the use of depth and perspective to draw his audience deeper into his subjects. He feels viewers find familiarity in his work and allows them to emotionally connect to his artwork.
His use of acrylic paint and airbrushing combined with a photographic printing process enables him to create a unique style that translates his emotions onto the canvas. Film photography opened up a new world to him. The process of choosing film, loading it into the camera, finding the best shot, manually developing the photo, and creating a piece that is the result of this intimate process becomes a personal part of himself that he shares to his audience.
Zuska earned an Associate’s degree in graphic design from College of DuPage. He decided to use what he learned and apply that to pursuing art as a second career. He has shown his work in multiple group exhibitions among established galleries like Vertical Gallery in Chicago, IL. Additionally, his film photographs were published in Film Desert Magazine.
